Ridgecrest Charter School

Once we found out that we were moving to Ridgecrest California, we wanted to figure out what school the girls were going to attend. After checking out the schools in the area, Jeramy and I decided we were interested in sending the girls to Ridgecrest Charter School. So we called the school, checked the reviews online, talked to Birdie's preschool teacher and Mara's school. We even looked up the different teaching programs they used to see if we felt they best matched our girls. (in case your wondering it's Saxon Math and Open Court Reading and Spelling) Then we decided YES! we do want the girls to attend this school. Well today we received their enrollment packets in the mail. Hooray! There are open spaces for both of them...it's official...they get to go there.

It's so nice when things work out the way you hope!

Now, if we could just figure out where were going to live... :)

We received orders!

As all of you know we have been stationed at NASWI for the last three years...well the time has come to get new orders. In February we received confirmation that we are moving to China Lake, in Ridgecrest California.

Jeramy and I are very excited about this move. We are happy for the new experience, sunny days (though you'll read blogs in the future about the weather being way too hot ..hehe) and being closer to family!

The girls have mixed feelings...when we leave for California, Kimi will go home. Her parents are flying in on June 18th to pick her up. After having her here for a year she has become such a member of our family and a great big sister to Mara and Birdie. But I know we will see her again. Mara is excited and always up for an adventure but is a little concerned about leaving her friends and starting a new school. Birdie is just happy that we are moving closer to Emma!!!

We will be leaving Oak Harbor on June 19, 2009 ... and we are on a countdown!!!!! We have put a paper chain in our hallway, when the chains are all gone we will be leaving!

Blogging for the first time!

Well ... Jeramy and I have decided to start a family blog (what? every ones doing it!) We thought this would be a great way to let our families know what's going on with us and with the girls.

I'm sure through this blogging process there will be many typos and misspelled words...OOPS. Just try to look past them all and enjoy the stuff that we post!
